3.29. Caida Libre

It opens after you finish both Eye in the Sky and Mr Richards. On Martin Madrazo's request, Michael brings down the plane carrying his cousin Javier, and Trevor collects the papers at the crash site.

Madrazo's house
At the house in La Fuente Blanca, Madrazo asks you to get rid of his cousin Javier, who is about to testify against him, and to recover important papers.
Sniping from the observatory
As Michael, go to the Galileo Observatory and get in the black Burrito van that Madrazo fitted with a heavy rifle in the back.
The plane appears at the upper left of the aiming view and crosses toward the airport. Shoot the red square that corrects for distance. Hit an engine three times and the plane goes down.
Bike chase
Switch to Trevor, take the Sanchez, and chase the falling plane through Great Chaparral, Harmony, and Sandy Shores. Along the way there is at least one jump you have to make.
Deal with Javier in front of the crashed plane, then go inside and grab the papers.
Destroying the van and meeting up
Switch back to Michael, move the van far from the observatory, and destroy it.
On the way to Madrazo's house you get Trevor's call and head for the Stoner Cement Works. Trevor arrives driving Madrazo's car, and Madrazo's wife Patricia is tied up in the trunk. The mission finishes on this scene.
After that the two of them lie low in Sandy Shores, and you cannot switch to Michael or Trevor until you finish Minor Turbulence.
Until you finish Monkey Business, Madrazo's men attack if Michael or Trevor enters Los Santos on the ground. You are not attacked while you are in an aircraft.
Finishing it adds Madrazo to Trevor's contacts.
Gold medal
Reach top speed on the Sanchez
Riding with the front wheel up builds speed.
Do not fall off the Sanchez during the chase
Getting off on purpose also misses the goal.
Shoot the plane down in 3 shots
You can use Michael's special ability only on the first shot.
Finish within 9 minutes 45 seconds
Skip every cutscene. The Fusilade on the house driveway is faster than Michael's Premier.
A helicopter is faster if you have one. The end of Mr Richards makes a helicopter easy to keep, so fly that one to the house and the observatory.
After you grab the papers, drive the van to the cement works and blow it up there. The next destination is that same place.
Reasons for failure
A protagonist dies or is busted, or Trevor's truck is destroyed
The van is destroyed before you bring the plane down, the plane reaches the airport, or you lose the falling plane
You blow up the van near the observatory, or you leave the van behind
